Mr & Mrs Chevin | Brooksby Hall Wedding

Brooksby Hall

The end of July saw the beautiful Mr & Mrs Chevin enjoy their Brooksby Hall wedding in style. Dave and Lois’ wedding was a pleasure to film and certainly had a few unique elements!

One of our favourite things about the whole day was their Wedding Hashtag. This has become quite a popular trend recently, where couples have a catchy, unique hashtag for their day. This means anyone from the day can post and find pictures very easily on social media sites! In this case just add #TheChevsWed to a picture from the day and other wedding guests can see images you took!

Our bride had a busy morning of getting hair and make up done with her bridesmaids. The room seemed so relaxed you hardly would have known what a special day was ahead!

We usually tend to know about all the little surprises and secrets – so we can catch them on film. But even we were shocked the morning of the wedding to find out there was something we didn’t know! The groom’s friends and family had a surprise for him he’d never forget – a helicopter ride! That’s right, Dave and his best man travelled like no other to the Brooksby Hall grounds for his wedding. His mum and dad also got the scenic travel to the venue and enjoyed an alternative look at Leicestershire from the skies!

(Check out Hazel Skye for the awesome 360 images we managed to capture from the day!)

The guests filled up the grounds, eager to get a look at the bride’s transport too. They had a stunning vintage VW Camper Van for the bridal party to get to the church. Now it was time for all the friends and family to head in for the ceremony, after all, they can’t see the bride before the wedding!

Lois looked absolutely incredible in her gown and had a brilliant army of bridesmaid to help arrange her dress and hair and flowers. They were all smiles as the minutes ticked down and finally it was time for Lois’ grand entrance.

After the ceremony there was plenty of time (and beautiful weather!) for photographs with family and friends, and again we managed to put the 360 camera into action for a charming shot of the couple. The grounds were a beautiful backdrop for photos and filming, as well as a great location for the entertainment – Morris Dancing! Tattered coats and bellpads all round – the morris dancing was a popular hit with many of the guests.

Speeches were made after the wedding breakfast and they did not disappoint. From loving memories and hilarious recollections of the past, the general theme was of well wishes to the future for the newlyweds. And something about rainbow umbrella hats…

The reception was soon underway, Lois and Dave shared their first dance as husband and wife. The cake was cut, and all that was left to do was party!! It was a beautiful wedding and a pleasure to video. We were also really happy to see Mr & Mrs Jackson and Mr & Mrs Fowler, whose wedding videos we also filmed! You can see those too, though be warned, it’s all very emotional!

Thank you to Dave and Lois for letting us capture your beautiful day on film! We hope you spend the rest of your lives making each other very very happy!

Mr & Mrs Goadby | All Saints Church Wedding

All Saints Church

Our latest wedding film was that of Tia and Adam, who had a lovely wedding at All Saints Church on the 16th July. The day began with hair and makeup for the bride and her party.

Sarah Newton got to work on Tia, and Hair by Jamie was also on hand for the bridesmaids’ hair do’s. The colour scheme of red and white shone through everywhere you looked! Tia’s wedding gown was embellished with red floral appliqué across the top and accenting the sides and the train. Her bridesmaid’s wore complementing red gowns – all from Berketex Brides.

Red ribbons adorned the BRF classic car that took the nervous bride to her new husband.  Her bouquet was a stunning cascade of red and white roses (from New World Florist). The bold colours weren’t the only theme of the wedding, their love of travel was incorporated too. Aeroplane table confetti and a suitcase for wedding cards were all subtle touches to suit the theme. Much of the stationary was handmade and personalised by the bride and groom themselves.

Next up was the ceremony at the church! Adam and his groomsmen also looked the part in their formal attire, from Farley’s Suit Hire. The wedding was beautiful, with words from friends and a family friend also singing at the church – well done Georgina!

With champagne flowing, confetti flying and the clouds parting, it was time to head to the reception, held at the wonderfully scenic Hothorpe Hall. Guests and family mingled once they arrived at the venue and a fair few of them took delight in the charming addition of The Wedding Artist – a caricaturist the couple invited to entertain their loved ones in the afternoon.

The bride, the groom and the best man all made speeches at the wedding breakfast. There were many laughs and many tears! The matching decor in the Hall really added to the atmosphere and the band from 2Close Entertainment performing in front of the wall of stars was out of this world. This was the perfect setting for the new Mr & Mrs Goadby to cut their gorgeous travel themed cake courtesy of family friend Penny!

And after all the food and speeches, the floor was cleared and the evening party could really get going! Naturally, the bride has to dance with her father but of course, we can’t forget the first dance. Tia and Adam looked like the perfect couple as they got onto the dance floor for the first time as newlyweds.

Huge thanks to Tia and Adam for inviting us to capture their wedding on film. It was a pleasure to be a part of your day. We wish you a life time of happiness together!

Tia and Adam had this to say about the wedding highlight:

“Thank you so much for the link! Video is epic we love it and good choice with the song! Not one we’ve heard before but we like it!”

Mr & Mrs Cooke | Kirby Castle Wedding

Kirby Castle

Kirby Castle Hotel was the latest venue for a wedding we attended. This was a special one for us, as Tara and Sean booked us for our very first official dual package with Hazel Skye Photography. We were at the wedding to film and photograph the entire day for the couple.

Tara spent the morning with her gorgeous little girl and her bridal party getting ready for the big day.  She helped with hair and makeup before getting her own done too, armed with prosecco! Little Lexi (Tara’s daughter) received a cute card from her mom and dad, thanking her for being the flower girl at their wedding.

There was a quick chance to catch the lads preparing just as much as the women. And soon enough it was ceremony time! With all their family and friends present to witness, the ceremony went off without a hitch and just like that – Tara and Sean were hitched!!

The party took a very short trip over the moat and we got some lovely photos of the newlyweds. Despite the rain, everyone seemed to have a lovely time, exploring the grounds when the weather dried up a little!

Mr & Mrs Cooke’s guests seemed to have a great time and the children especially had boundless energy as they ran around the grounds!

Kirby Castle Hotel had been transformed once they returned to enjoy the wedding breakfast and everyone tucked into food as well as listening to the brilliant speeches.

With the nerve-wracking bit over and done, all that was left to do was enjoy a first dance as newlyweds! Also, can’t forget the cake cutting, which was a delicious looking 3 tier sponge cake with fresh fruit and flowers!

We can’t thank Tara and Sean enough for having us at their wedding! Hopefully you’re as pleased as we are with how the photos and highlight video have turned out. We are really excited to have cpmpleted our first dual package! We’re sure they’ll be many more to come!
